Who are you? Who who who who? (Narcissus: descendants of)

I'm sure we all know someone who is so obsessed with his or her appearance, they'd sell their souls to the devil if they could stay young, a la Oscar Wilde's classic tale 'The Picture of Dorian Gray.'

These people are considered vain (yeah, I'd say so!) but some really do have a mental disorder named for Narcissus, the idiot who fell in love with his own reflected image in a pool of water. Poor guy didn't realize that the face he was seeing in the water was not real, just a reflection, and so do people who have this disorder.

The world they live in is not the same world where you and I reside. It's a REFLECTION so don't be like stupid Narcissus and fall for it because it ain't real, folks.

Want instant proof? Try disagreeing with them or in any way challenge their authority; but be prepared with ear plugs and a helmet because if their house of cards is in danger, so are you. Mucho.

Having known one all my life, my advice is to put as much distance as you can between yourself and their Alice In Wonderland-through the looking glass existence.

But if you choose to remain, proceed with extreme caution. Just agree with everything they say. And pick up an extra helmet or two!
